श्री फूमसिंह मैं सन् 1951 से सन् 1988 तक मीणा रेजिमेंट देवली की ओर से भारतीय सेना में देश की आजादी के उपरांत अपनी सेवाएं दी तथा भारत और चीन के बीच में लड़े गए सन् 1962 और 1965 के युद्ध में अपनी वीरता का कौशल दिखाया तथा कई अवार्ड प्राप्त किए।
इनके सेवा के दौरान ही सन् 1971 में भारत और पाकिस्तान के बीच युद्ध छिड़ गया।
जिसमें इन्होंने बढ़-चढ़कर अपना सैनिक कौशल दिखाया जिसमें हमारे देश ने पाकिस्तान पर विजय प्राप्त की।
परिवार का लगातार सेना के प्रति रुख होने के कारण फूम सिंह के दो लड़के श्री लक्ष्मण सिंह ने सन् 1982 में भर्ती होकर सन् 1999 तक भारतीय सेना में रहे तथा ऑपरेशन पवन श्रीलंका जो सन् 1989 से चला आ रहा था ।इस ऑपरेशन पवन में आपने अपनी सेवाएं भारतीय सेना की ओर से प्रदान की ।छोटे भाई रामवतार भी भारतीय सेना में भर्ती होकर देश के प्रति सेवा करने का जज्बा जगा । श्री रामवतार ने सन् 1999 में भारत पाकिस्तान के बीच में लड़ा गया कारगिल युद्ध की लड़ाई में भाग लिया और भारत की जीत में भागीदार बने।
इसी तरह सेना की इनकी ललक आगे से आगे बढ़ती गई और श्री लक्ष्मण सिंह जी के पुत्र सवाई सिंह और शिवराज भी सेना में शामिल हुए जो अनवरत सेना की सेवा दे रहे हैं तथा श्री रामवतार जी के पुत्र राहुल मीणा भी अभी भारतीय सेना में अपनी ड्यूटी देकर परिवार की परंपरा को बराबर बनाए हुए हैं।
मीणा रेजिमेंट देवली के सानिध्य में खेराड क्षेत्र के मीणा बहादुरी के प्रतीक माने गए हैं तथा अपनी योग्यता का परचम भारत की सेनाओं में फहराया है इस तरह एक ही परिवार की 6 पीढ़ियां देश सेवा के लिए अपने आप को कुर्बान किया है तथा यहां की मातृत्व शक्ति भी अपने नौनिहालों को सेना में भेज कर अपने आप पर गर्व करते हैं कि मेरा बेटा सेना में जाकर अपने देश का और गांव का नाम रोशन करेगा।
पूर्व में प्राप्त इस परिवार के पास ब्रिटिश सरकार से लेकर अब तक के इन बहादुरों ने बहुत से मेडल प्राप्त किए जो आज भी सूबेदार बिरदा सिंह मीणा की याद को ताजा करते हैं जिनमें प्रमुख रूप से हैं।

In this Operation Pawan, you have given your life. The services were provided by the Indian Army. Younger brother Ramvtar also joined the Indian Army and got motivated to serve the country. Mr. Ramwatar participated in the Kargil War fought between India and Pakistan in 1999 and became a participant in India’s victory.
Similarly, his yearning for the army kept on increasing from the front and Sawai Singh and Shivraj, the sons of Mr. Laxman Singh, also joined the army, who are continuously serving the army and Rahul Meena, the son of Mr. Ramvatar, is also doing his duty in the Indian Army.
